Jainism is a religion and a way of life. For thousands of years, Jains have been practicing vegetarianism, yoga, meditation, and environmentalism. Jain way of life has three core principles: Non-Violence, Non-Absolutism, and Non-Possessiveness.
Non-Violence is compassion and forgiveness in thoughts, words, and deeds towards all living beings. For this reason, Jains are vegetarians.
Non- Absolutism is respecting the views of others. Jains encourage dialogue and harmony with other faiths.
Non-Possessiveness is balancing needs and desires while staying detached from these possessions.
These core principles will help us manage our anger, ego, deceit, and greed. With this practice, not only I am happy and content, but the people around me, my community, and this world is a happier place.
